The practical difference is installation and scope. MetaTrader 4 and 5 are downloaded applications with a plugin ecosystem built around them; FxPro Edge runs in a browser and covers forex, indices, shares, metals and energies from one interface without anything to install. For a trader who works across several machines, that removes the setup step entirely.
Pricing is where the choice has consequences. Edge quotes spreads and commission that vary by market, while MT4 Standard is a flat all-in spread from 1.2 pips and Raw+ and cTrader run from 0.0 pips plus $3.50 per lot per side. On the measured Raw+ feed a EUR/USD lot works out at roughly $9.00 all-in, which is the number worth comparing any Edge quote against.
All of them sit behind the same FxPro Direct account and the same $100 minimum deposit, so switching between them does not mean opening anything new. Order execution on the measured feed averaged 78–89 ms across sizes from 0.01 to 1.0 lot with no failed orders.
